The Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board is an organisation founded in 1970, which is dedicated to improve the Life of Slum dwellers within Chennai and since 1984 also in other urban areas of Tamil Nadu. Thea have implemented several Slum Development, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Programmes as well as building and providing affordable housing to the families living in the Mama Slums of Chennai. Thea have worked together with Udavi 1998-2002 top build and entertain a transit school for child labour and school dropouts.
